They explore how we communicate with each other and how our ideas and thoughts on the human experience are expressed and interpreted.
They help us think about and respond to the world and give us tools to examine and make sense of our lives. Focusing on the big questions, both contemporary and perennial, these disciplines engage students in civic life, locally and globally, while equipping them to face the challenges ofÌý the future.
ÌýMission of the School of Humanities
The School of Humanities prepares students with skills in communicating, critical thinking, and problem solving; enables students to investigate themes in the history, language and literature of various cultures, as well as the nature of culture itself; fosters a supportive environment in which faculty and student scholars can flourish; and provides graduates with tools to excel as locally, regionally, and globally informed citizens and professionals.
