MONROE, LA 鈥 The School of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana Monroe is preparing to host two concerts. Performer-Composer Brian KM will present a recital for horn and electronics on October 7. 956 Brass, a faculty brass ensemble from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley will present a recital on October 23. 听

Performer-composer Brian KM will present 鈥淧icture This鈥, a recital for horn and electronics on Monday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall on the 网曝门 Campus. He will also hold workshops for 网曝门 students on music and entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence code of ethics for artists, and electronic music composition. 听
Brian has performed his original compositions for horn and electronics in over 100 venues in the United States, Australia, and Canada, and served as Principal Horn of the United States Navy鈥檚 US Pacific Fleet Band in Pearl Harbor, Hawai驶i. While serving in the Navy, he was a featured soloist and regular horn player for the organization鈥檚 premiere brass quintet, Harbor Brass and wind quintet, Trade Winds.听He has performed at five FRINGE Festival Events and was featured at The International Horn Society Conference in 2021, as well as The Boston New Music Initiative in 2022 and 2024.听
He earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in music therapy along with a performance certificate from Shenandoah Conservatory and a master鈥檚 degree in horn performance from the University of Maryland.听

956 Brass, a faculty brass ensemble from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, will present a recital on Wednesday, October 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall. 听
The members of 956 Brass are William Haugeberg, DM, Monica C. Martinez, DMA, and Alexander Sanso, DMA. In addition to holding faculty positions at UTRGV, all three are active professional musicians, having performed as soloists, chamber musicians, and in orchestras throughout the region and beyond. 听
Their program will include original and transcribed works for brass trio by Anton Reicha, Gina Gillie, Ivette Herryman Rodriguez, and Shanyse Strickland.听
