VAPA presents ‘The Addams Family’ April 29-30, May 1-2; free tickets available now

The traditional musical theater spring production returns to the University of Louisiana Monroe with a four-day run of “The Addams Family – A Musical Comedy.”

The School of Visual and Performing Arts presents “The Addams Family” at 7:30 p.m., April 29-31 and May 1, and at 2 p.m. on May 2. The production will be livestreaming from Brown Auditorium on BookTix.

Tickets are required and are free on Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-addams-family-tickets-148785113279).

Ticketholders will receive an email before the performances with a passcode to access the livestreaming on BookTix. The performances will not be available on YouTube. For more information, contact the VAPA office at 318-342-3811.

“The Addams Family” music and lyrics are by Andrew Lippa, and the book is by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. The show is based upon “The Addams Family” characters created by Charles Addams in his single-panel gag cartoons, which depict a ghoulish American family with an affinity for all things macabre.

The production director is Mark Ross Clark, Ph.D., with orchestra conductor Deborah Chandler, Ph.D., musical director is Justin Havard, choreographer Sarah Talmage, technical director Steven Burnside, and costumer Margaret Hall.
