Art students at the University of Louisiana Monroe used their talents to transform facemasks into wearable works of art for a creative fundraiser for the Kappa Pi Honorary Art Society.
The Mask Up 鈥 A Wearable Masterpiece Auction听is now live with 13 masks available for bid. Another 37 will be added during the seven-day event, which runs from Friday, May 8 through Friday, May 15.
鈥淜appa Pi is auctioning handpainted facemasks that have been transformed into wearable works of art,鈥 said Brooke Foy, assistant professor of art in the School of Visual and Performing Arts, College of Arts, Education, and Sciences. 鈥淭wenty-five art majors at 网曝门 have created these unique masks.鈥
The bidding starts at $10 per mask. At the end of the auction, the masks will be shipped to the highest bidder. All funds go the society, which assists art students to offset the costs of activities, shows, and supplies related to their art studies.
The Delta Alpha Chapter of Kappa Phi at 网曝门 focuses on student leadership, outreach to the community through art, and supporting their peers majoring in art听
