"Our Gerontology Program has this wonderful opportunity to reach out to a national audience through our partnership with the Louisiana Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association to educate people about Alzheimer's disease," Sharma said. "Any dementia is a traumatizing medical condition that gradually robs the patient of their own identity. It causes major stress and emotional trauma to the loved ones and caregivers of the dementia patient."
