Jazz Artist Rondi Charleston to perform at 网曝门 Jan. 24

MONROE, La. 鈥 The 网曝门 School of Visual and Performing Arts will host a performance by jazz singer Rondi Charleston on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. in Brown Theater.

This performance is sponsored by the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council. No ticket is required for this performance, though seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The doors to Brown will open at 6 p.m. for the performance.聽

Mot茅ma Music recording artist, Rondi Charleston, is an award-winning jazz singer, lyricist, and composer whose work has appeared in film, TV and on stage throughout the U.S. and Europe. Her most recent album, Signs of Life, climbed the Jazz Week charts for ten consecutive weeks and has critics raving. Jazz Times proclaims, 鈥淪he is a songwriter whose poetic, narrative, and compositional skills are comparable to such modern masters as Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon.鈥澛

Touring in support of Signs of Life, Charleston and her all-star band have given sold out performances from coast to coast 鈥 from Yoshi鈥檚 in San Francisco, to Mayne Stage in Chicago, to Joe鈥檚 Pub in New York. She has collaborated with some of the foremost jazz luminaries of our time including Fred Hersch, Lynne Arriale and Dave Stryker. Charleston was chosen for the Women in Jazz Festival at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and has played Birdland and BlueNote with her quartet in New York City. In addition, she is a Juilliard graduate as well as an Emmy and Peabody award winning journalist at ABC News Primetime Live.
