Marine Band brings ‘Santa Meets Sousa’ to on Saturday

The concert is free, donation of toy for Toys for Tots requested

The Marine Corps Band New Orleans will be in concert Saturday, Dec. 2, at the University of Louisiana Monroe. The “Santa Meets Sousa” performance is at 7 p.m. in Brown Auditorium and is free and open to the public.

No admission is charged, however, the donation of a new, unwrapped toy is requested for the Marine Forces Reserves Toys for Tots.

The concert is sponsored by the School of Visual and Performing Arts, Chennault Aviation and Military Museum, Catfish Cabin and Lagniappe Broadcasting.

Members of the band are active duty Marines based at the Marine Corps Support Facility in New Orleans.
Each year the musicians of the band travel throughout the United States, performing more than 250 concerts, parades, and ceremonies, entertaining over 6 million people. The band is composed of a ceremonial and concert band, jazz combo, and brass and woodwind quintets.
