Kauffman

The project began a decade ago when Kauffman traveled to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina to help friends gather salvageable items from their ground-floor apartment in New Orleans.聽 The flood lines throughout the city held her attention and she began to document them.聽

鈥淭he exhibit is my response to the Katrina situation and seeing the water marks on all the buildings, vehicles, trees, etc. from New Orleans,鈥 she said. 鈥淲ith 600 photographs taken, the current project has grown to be about 200 ft. in length.聽 A unique aspect of this exhibit is that viewers are encouraged to leave comments on the artwork with their stories from Katrina. This will be the 15th, and possibly last, exhibition of the artwork.鈥

The new Walker Hall Art Gallery will be open for the first time during the art crawl.

Although students typically exhibit their work in Bry Hall, a select few have earned the opportunity to display their work in the Walker Hall gallery.聽

The gallery will be student run, and students will have the opportunity to jury shows, tag and price artwork, and host receptions.聽
