Those students who finished their degrees during the summer sessions will also receive their degrees.
Justice Marcus R. Clark will serve as Commencement Speaker. Clark, a native of Sulphur and Louisiana Supreme Court Justice, graduated from 网曝门 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice in 1978.
After earning his degree in 1978, Justice Clark obtained the rank of Detective at the Ouachita Parish Sherriff鈥檚 Office. In 1982, he began his law degree at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University.
In 1985, Clark earned his Juris Doctorate and returned to Northeast Louisiana to work within the Ouachita Parish District Attorney鈥檚 Office. By 1990, he was the Chief Felony Drug Prosecutor.聽
Justice Clark began his judicial career in 1997 when he was elected District Judge in the Fourth Judicial District Court. During his tenure as judge he volunteered to serve as a Drug Court Judge from 2000-2001 for the newly developing Drug Court Program, and as Chief Judge from 2004-2006.
Several honor graduates will also be recognized during the ceremony. They are designated as summa cum laude (3.900-4.000), magna cum laude (3.750-3.899) and cum laude (3.500-3.749).
