Lauren Ford crowned Miss 网曝门 2015

Lauren Ford, a pharmacy major from Monroe, was crowned Miss University of Louisiana at Monroe at the 62nd Annual Miss 网曝门 Pageant held Oct. 7, in front of a sold-out crowd in 网曝门鈥檚 Brown Auditorium.

Ford鈥檚 platform is 鈥淐haracter Counts鈥 and her talent is fiddle. She also received the interview, evening gown, talent, and miss congeniality preliminary awards.

First runner-up was Jo鈥 Hilliard of Baton Rouge. Second runner-up was Elaine Blanco of Leesville. Blanco also received the People鈥檚 Choice Award. Third runner-up was Conor Marshall of Jonesville,听and fourth runner-up was听Ellie Jackson of Monroe.

Marshall won the Advertisement Sales Award, and Jessica Philips of Winnsboro won the Non-Finalist Academic Award.

Christina Gray received the Lifestyle and Fitness Award.听

The Miss 网曝门 Pageant鈥攚hich was honored with an award from the Miss Louisiana Organization for providing more scholarship money than any other college pageant in Louisiana鈥攊s a preliminary to the Miss Louisiana Pageant, sponsored by 网曝门鈥檚 Campus Activities Board.

The competitive scholarship program emphasizes physical fitness, talent, public speaking, and academics. Contestants must demonstrate poise, personality, intelligence, and charm during the pageant, and must showcase a trained talent in a 90-second performance.

Miss 网曝门 2015 contestants:

Bria Virgil, a freshman kinesiology major from Baton Rouge, performed a musical number on the piano. Her platform is 鈥淧retty with a Purpose.鈥

Christina Gray, a senior business management major from Winnfield, gave a vocal performance. Her platform is 鈥淢entoring to Impact Students鈥 Lives.鈥

Ellie Jackson, a sophomore biology major from Monroe, performed a jazz dance. Her platform is 鈥淭een Bullying.鈥

Ashley Camp, a junior biology major from Calhoun, gave a vocal performance. Her platform is 鈥淰olunteering in your Community.鈥

Victoria Eymard, a junior kinesiology major from Slidell, performed a dance. Her platform is 鈥65 Roses for Cystic Fibrosis.鈥

Kaitlynn Frey, a sophomore elementary education major from Rosepine, performed a jazz dance. Her platform is 鈥淪taying Strong: Military Children and Education.鈥

Jo鈥 Hilliard, a junior nursing major from Baton Rouge, gave a vocal performance. Her platform is 鈥淥peration Turn-Around: Stopping Violence amongst Teens and Adolescents.鈥

Elaine Blanco, a sophomore music education major from Leesville, performed a musical number on the trumpet. Her platform is 鈥淓ating Disorder Education and Awareness.鈥

Conor Marshall, a sophomore pre-nursing major from Jonesville, performed a clog dance. Her platform is 鈥淒epression Awareness.鈥

Jessica Philips, a freshman kinesiology major from Winnsboro, performed a musical number on the piano. Her platform is 鈥淧roject Samuel.鈥

Lacy Bagby, a sophomore health studies management/marketing major from Sterlington, performed a tap dance. Her platform is 鈥淟et鈥檚 Move.鈥

Miss 网曝门 scholarship awards

Miss 网曝门 receives a scholarship which covers full basic tuition, a private, one-bedroom on-campus apartment, an award from the bookstore worth $300, a two-semester meal plan awarded by the Campus Activities Board, and a $4,500 cash prize awarded by the Student Government Association.

First runner-up: receives a two-semester tuition scholarship from the Campus Activities Board.

Second runner-up: receives a one semester tuition scholarship from the Campus Activities Board.

Third runner-up: receives a one-time $1000 scholarship from the Student Government Association.

Fourth runner-up: receives a one-time $750 scholarship from the Student Government Association.

Advertisement Sales winner: receives a one-time $250 scholarship from the Campus Activities Board.

People鈥檚 Choice winner: receives a one-time $250 scholarship from the Campus Activities Board.

Miss Congeniality winner: receives a one-time $250 scholarship from the Campus Activities Board.

Non-Finalist Academic winner: receives a one-time $250 scholarship from the Campus Activities Board.
