鈥淲e decided to put in place a volunteer program where contractors can have an option to support and put money back into education,鈥 said Weston. 鈥淚f each contractor gives a $100 donation, we can raise over $2.1 million every year for the three schools in Louisiana with accredited programs.鈥

The funds may be used for program upgrades, projects, supplies, and more.

鈥淥ur ultimate goal is to donate much more over the years,鈥 continued Weston. 鈥淚f we can get our 21,000 contractors in the state to make the $100 donation that would allow us to give you what you need to get us the product that we need鈥攓ualified graduates. This check is a product of only five months of donations and it is five times more than we鈥檝e ever given.鈥

Bruno appreciates the continued support of the construction management program.

鈥淚 want to add my gratitude to those in the construction industry,鈥 said Bruno. 鈥淚f every one of our businesses/industries supported their schools as significantly as our construction program is supported, higher education in Louisiana would be able to provide more quality graduates prepared for the workforce.鈥

Members of the Contractors Educational Trust Fund were also in attendance. They work closely with the Louisiana Licensing Board for Construction Management to ensure the expansion of services for construction education in Louisiana. In April, the CETF donated $100,000 to 网曝门鈥檚 Thurman Potts Endowed Professorship in Construction Management.
