网曝门 to celebrate Women鈥檚 History Month

The University of Louisiana at Monroe鈥檚 Diversity Committee and the College of Business and Social Sciences, will present three events and a leadership conference during the month of March in celebration of Women鈥檚 History Month. All events are free and open to the public.

鈥淲e are very pleased to host Women鈥檚 History Month again at 网曝门,鈥 said Dr. Wayne Brumfield, Vice President for Student Affairs. 鈥淥ur speaker lineup is very exciting and we believe that they will bring a plethora of experiences to each presentation.鈥

Events are as follows:

At 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, Sister Kathleen Cain of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady聽North American Province, will speak in the 网曝门 Conference Center, located on the seventh floor of the 网曝门 Library. A reception will follow the event.聽

The College of Business and Social Sciences will host its inaugural Women in Leadership Conference on March 12, as part of 网曝门鈥檚 celebration of Women鈥檚 History.

Five 网曝门 graduates will give various presentations throughout the day.

Guests include: Kathryn Sullivan, CEO of UnitedHealthcare鈥擟entral Region; Teri Fontenot, CEO of Woman鈥檚 Hospital in Baton Rouge; Kristin Wall , CEO of Louisiana Worker鈥檚 Compensation Corporation; Maxine Moreau, Executive Vice President of Network Services for CenturyLink; and Angela McCray, creator of Project REMADE, a post-prison entrepreneurship training program for women.

Presentations will run 聽consecutively from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the SUB Ballroom area, located on the second floor of the Student Union Building.

McIntyre

Judge Ann McIntyre鈥攚ho graduated from 网曝门 in 1974 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing鈥攚ill speak at 5:30 p.m., Monday, March 17, in the 网曝门 Conference Center, located on the seventh floor of the 网曝门 Library.

McIntyre鈥攁n attorney and Judge for the 7th Ward in Winnsboro City Court鈥攅arned her Juris Doctorate from the Mississippi College of Law. McIntyre serves on the Board of Directors for the Wellspring of Northeast Louisiana, and is a graduate of Neville High School in Monroe. A reception will follow the event.

At 5:30 p.m., on Monday, March 24, Meryl Kennedy-Farr鈥擵ice President of Marketing and Sales Director for Kennedy Rice Mill and managing partner for Planters Rice Mill and Delta Land and Farm Management鈥攚ill speak in the 网曝门 Conference Center, located on the seventh floor of the 网曝门 Library.

Kennedy-Farr was born and raised in Morehouse Parish. After finishing college at the University of Georgia with a degree in international affairs, Kennedy-Farr returned home to join the family business.

The Kennedy family agribusiness includes drying, grain storage, grain marketing, land management, real-estate, and rice milling.

Kennedy-Farr is an active member of the community and serves on several local boards including the 网曝门 Foundation Board. A reception will follow the event.
