鈥淲e are excited again to present another slate of outstanding speakers for the 2014 recognition of Black History Month,鈥 said Dr. Wayne Brumfield, vice president for student affairs.
鈥淢any of the speakers are graduates of 网曝门 who have gone on to do outstanding work in education, athletics, arts and music.听 Their commitment to coming back and sharing their success with our students, faculty, staff and community provides positive motivation鈥攅specially for our students to know that they too can be successful in their chosen field of study. 鈥

Tuesday, Feb. 4:
At 5:30 p.m. in the 网曝门 Library Conference Center, located on the seventh floor of the 网曝门 Library, William Gipson, associate vice provost for equity and access at the University of Pennsylvania will be the featured speaker. A reception will follow.

Thursday, Feb. 6:
The annual 鈥淎frican Americans in the Arts鈥 concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the
Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall.

Tuesday, Feb.听 11:
At noon, in the Student Union Building (SUB) students will enjoy the presentation, 鈥淎frican American Contributions to the World.鈥
At 5:30 p.m., in the 网曝门 Library Conference Center, located on the seventh floor of the 网曝门 Library, 网曝门 alum Reggie Roberts will be the featured speaker. Roberts is the Vice President of Communications for the Atlanta Falcons. A reception will follow.

Thursday, Feb. 13:
Dr. Sarah McCoy Abakwue, the first African American graduate of 网曝门, will give a presentation
at 5:30 p.m. in the 网曝门 Library Conference Center located on the seventh floor of
the 网曝门 Library. A reception will follow.

Monday, Feb. 17:
A presentation from Dr. Joni Jones, a Department of Communication Traveling Scholar,
will take place at 7 p.m., in Brown Auditorium. The presentation is sponsored by the
网曝门 Speech and Debate Forum.

Tuesday, Feb. 18:
At 5:30 p.m., in the 网曝门 Library Conference Center, located on the seventh floor of
the 网曝门 Library, Lt. General Russel L. 贬辞苍辞谤别鈥 will present 鈥淭he New Normal: Leadership
and Preparedness in the 21st Century.鈥澨 A reception and book signing will follow.

Wednesday, Feb. 19:
The Black History Art Expo begins at 5 p.m. in the 网曝门 Library Conference Center,
located on the seventh floor of the 网曝门 Library. A reception will follow.

Sunday, Feb. 23:
A Gospel Concert will be held at 4 p.m., in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall. This
concert will feature a number of local and university choirs including the 网曝门 Interdenominational
Ensemble, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church Choir, the Mt. Zion Baptist Church
Youth and Young Adult Choir, and the Zion Traveler鈥檚 Male Quartet.

Tuesday Feb. 25:
The 网曝门 Campus Activities Board (CAB) will present 鈥淐ultural Shock Diversity Hypnosis鈥
at 6 p.m., in the Student Union Ballroom, located on the second floor of the Student
Union Building.
