网曝门 voice students show vibrato at annual conference
Several University of Louisiana at Monroe students won awards at the Louisiana Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) spring conference recently held at 网曝门 March 9.
The singers performed for a panel of judges comprised of vocal teachers from throughout the state.
网曝门 voice Professor Dr. Claire Vangelisti served as organizer and host for the event, which serves members from nearly every institution of higher education in the state.
网曝门 students won four of the six awards available in the collegiate musical theater category.
Following the competition, conference attendees were treated to a master class with acclaimed baritone Mark Rucker.
Results are as follows:
Hayden Coie of Downsville won first place in the freshman men category and Benjamin Thoms of Lake Charles won third place in the freshmen men category.
Hannah Bryan of West Monroe won third place in the freshman women category.
Melissa Champion of Jackson, Miss., won second place in the senior women category, and Troy Morris of Monroe won second place in the senior men category.
Nathanael Medlin of Downsville won second place in the lower division musical theater category.
Claire Givens of West Monroe won first place in the upper division musical theater category, Amber Atkins of Monroe won second place in the upper division musical theater category, and Allison Friloux of Destrehan won third place in the upper division musical theater category.
NATS is an organization formed to encourage the highest standards of the vocal art and of ethical principles in the teaching of singing; and to promote vocal education and research at all levels, both for the enrichment of the general public and for the professional advancement of the talented.
