Scholastic author Cameron to visit ÍřĆŘĂĹ Nov. 29

The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s fall semester event schedule for the Campus Activities Board will conclude with an appearance and lecture from author Sharon Cameron, at 7 p.m. in Stubbs Hall Room 100, on Thursday, Nov. 29.

The event is free to ÍřĆŘĂĹ students, faculty, and staff.

Cameron’s book, “The Dark Unwinding,” is the next exciting offering from Scholastic Books, after the culmination of the break-away success of “The Hunger Games” trilogy.

Cameron’s book, which is sure to be a hit, will be available at the event. Cameron will discuss her debut novel, the writing process, and first-time publishing process.

Cameron describes her novel: “Katharine Tulman discovers a fantastic world where science seems like magic when she arrives at her uncle’s remote estate to have him committed to a lunatic asylum. But instead of a lunatic she is confronted with a genius inventor with his own set of child-like rules, a brooding apprentice and a mysterious young student of science, the dwindling family fortune and the hundreds of families her uncle is using it to support. Having Uncle Tulman sent to the asylum is no longer an easy choice. And that’s when Katharine Tulman begins seeing things that aren’t really there.”
