Greek Honor Society Awards presented at Athenian Awards banquet
The University of Louisiana at Monroe's Office of Greek Life, and Order of Omega Greek Honor Society held its annual Athenian Awards banquet Tuesday, May 1, in conjunction with Student Affairs Awards Night.
Greek students and chapters were recognized for their outstanding achievements over the last year.
"The chapters within the Panhellenic, Interfraternity, and National Pan-Hellenic Councils annually compete for these awards to see who the top chapter within their respected council is," said ÍøÆØÃÅ Greek Advisor Keith Hembree.
A highlight each year is the awarding of the Overall Chapter Excellence Award, the highest honor any Greek chapter at ÍøÆØÃÅ can receive.
The award features a competition in areas of campus involvement, chapter operations, community service, education, intellectual development, leadership, risk management, and values integration.
"The awards are based on the guidelines used in the Fraternity/Sorority Assessment Project that assesses Greek Systems across the country," said Hembree.
"It is great to see members and chapters within our Greek System being recognized for all their hard work and dedication to the university. I am very proud of our award winners and congratulate them on an outstanding year."
