ÍøÆØÃÅ's Anderson speaks about King Arthur legends

The subject of King Arthur is never getting old, no matter that it's ancient history.

Jeffrey Anderson, assistant professor of history at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, spoke about the subject at length as a part of the Lincoln Parish Library's Historical Happenings program Jan. 19 in Ruston.

According to the program description, "The legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table have exerted a powerful influence on how we understand bravery, honor, and tragedy. While their influence is undeniable, no one has yet determined just where these timeless tales originated. "

While definitive answers are hard to come by, Anderson discussed how the stories developed over time and some of the history behind them.
