网曝门 Department of Radiologic Technology represented in New Orleans

Faculty members and students of the 网曝门 Department of Radiologic Technology participated in a multitude of activities at the 54th Annual Meeting of the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists, held Aug. 25-27 in New Orleans.

Department Head and Assistant Professor of Radiologic Technology Brett Bennett, who has served over the past year as president-elect, was sworn in as president for the 2011-12 year during the Presidential Banquet.

Also during the conference, Bennett served as scorekeeper during the Student Quiz Bowl competition.

Clinical Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Radiologic Technology Andy Allen, who has served the past year as LSRT President, will continue to serve on the Board of Directors for the next two years.

He was elected vice chair of the Louisiana Educators in Radiologic Sciences Council, a positioned in which he has served the previous year.

Allen also served as a judge during the Student Quiz Bowl competition, as well as the 网曝门 Radiologic Technology team coach, during the conference.

Assistant Professor of Radiologic Technology Jaclyn Peters presented a lecture titled "Legal Issues with Radiology Exam Documentation."

Peters has served as chair of the Louisiana Educators in Radiologic Science Council for the 2010-11 year and was elected to the LSRT Recording Secretary office for 2011-12.

During the conference, Peters also served as Faculty Advisor for Chi Beta Gamma.

网曝门 students participated in their choice of the Scientific Essay Competition or the Scientific Exhibit Competition.

The 2011 Quiz Bowl team also represented the University well, finishing in fourth place overall. All students were awarded certificates for their participation in the competitions.

Team members included Shelby Craft, Courtney Craig, Ashley Cullum, Brittany Gamble, Lindsay Harrington, and Megan Reichert. Chi Beta Gamma, the radiologic technology student organization, placed third for their design in the T-Shirt competition.
