ÍøÆØÃÅ's Lock publishes in "Southern Cross Review"
Dr. Helen Lock, University of Louisiana at Monroe Endowed Professor of English, has published an article titled "Zora Neale Hurston and the African American Odyssey" in online arts journal "Southern Cross Review."
Another of Lock's articles, "Transformation of the Trickster" was also published by the journal and has received 54,200 hits as of June 2011. This article is used frequently in college courses.
Lock is a referee for "Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States" quarterly journal and has served on the publication board of the National Association of Ethnic Studies. She has published a book on African-American literature as well as numerous articles.
Lock chairs the Arts and Sciences Dean's Research and Creative Project Fund at ÍøÆØÃÅ. She teaches American literature, African-American literature and multicultural literature courses in the English department and serves on many committees.
