The "Best Homecoming Week on Earth" has something for everyone

's Homecoming Week is right around the corner with a full week of activities for all to enjoy, starting Monday, Oct. 24.

Taking from the 2011 Homecoming theme "The Greatest College on Earth," this year's Homecoming has something for everyone to enjoy.



Monday, Oct. 24:

Selected works by Wayne Horton will be at Bry Art Gallery Oct. 24 – 27 from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by the School of Visual and Performing Arts.

There will be an All Afternoon Campus Decoration Contest sponsored by the Campus Activities Board. For more information, contact Laura Knotts at knotts@ulm.edu.

Tuesday, Oct. 25:

Roving Carnival Artists will be at the SUB/The QUAD from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event is sponsored by CAB. For more information, contact Laura Knotts at knotts@ulm.edu.

’s 80th Birthday Party is one you don’t want to miss! It will occur from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the SUB Ballrooms. The event is sponsored by CAB. For more information, contact Laura Knotts at knotts@ulm.edu.

The national champion Water Ski Team will perform at a Water Ski Show on Bayou DeSiard from 5 – 6 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 26:

The musical feast continues with the Trumpet Recital at 6 p.m. in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall. The event is sponsored by VAPA.

The Parade begins at 7:45 p.m.  –  the first Homecoming Parade since 2003. It will feature floats decorated by student organization members, and students on each float will be tossing out candy and prizes to the crowd.

The parade route will begin on University Avenue, continue along Northeast Drive and end at The Grove with a pep rally, bonfire and a block party at 8:30 p.m. featuring Lafayette band Vagabond Swing.

Saturday, Oct. 29:

Homecoming festivities for the day begin with Game Day Tailgating at 9 a.m. in The Grove. For more information, contact Phil Shaw at pshaw@ulm.edu.

Also beginning at 9 a.m. and lasting until 7 p.m., the College of Pharmacy Super Tailgate will occur at The Grove. For more information, contact Dr. Benny Blaylock at blaylock@ulm.edu.

The Men's Basketball Intrasquad Scrimmage starts at 9:30 a.m. in Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The event is sponsored by Athletics.
