ÍøÆØÃÅ NLBCDC to receive $50,000 business incubation grant

The Northeast Louisiana Business and Community Development Center at the University of Louisiana at Monroe is the recipient of a $50,000 grant from the Louisiana Business Incubator Association and Louisiana Economic Development.

The center provides regional development opportunities for leaders of community organizations and businesses, including training programs such as budgeting, leadership, planning, financial literacy, and other business-related topics.

This award will be used to assist with the creation of a multi-function business incubator providing direct support to businesses and communities within the northeast Louisiana delta region. Support services provided to emerging and small businesses increase their chance for long-term survival.

This funding directly supports that effort and is significant to the success of the project.

"We appreciate the generous support from the Louisiana Business Incubator Association and Louisiana Economic Development. It comes at a critical time in the development of our incubator and will allow us to develop a great economic development tool for our region," according to Susan Duggins, director of the Northeast Louisiana Business and Community Development Center.

These monies will allow for physical renovations to the facility and the acquisition of technology, thus enhancing the delivery of services throughout northeast Louisiana.
