ÍøÆØÃÅ senior participates in unique internship opportunity with KNOE

Chris Lebel, a senior political science major from Downsville, has recently completed an internship with the local television station KNOE.

At KNOE, Lebel worked closely with sports journalist Aaron Dietrich, better known by his KNOE persona, "Aaron's Aces." With Dietrich, Lebel travelled to area high schools and colleges filming footage of sporting events.

Lebel is enthusiastic about the great first-hand experience with this internship. He learned how to edit clips for the sports highlights that aired every night on the local news as well as doing the actual camera work while filming during the day.

"This was a great opportunity to see if I can see myself doing this for the rest of my life," Lebel explains when talking about what he got out of the experience.

Lebel is looking forward to working at KNOE again in the fall and hopes to learn more what it takes to make it in the world of television.

Lebel was able to receive six credit hours towards his major working with KNOE, as ÍøÆØÃÅ's Social Science Research Lab helps makes internships available to political science students for credit.

A list of available internships is available at the Career Connections Web site and the Office of Career Connections will host a Job Expo on Tuesday, Aug. 23 in the second floor SUB Ballroom.
