ÍøÆØÃÅ's Carpenter published in new reference volume
An assistant professor of history at the University of Louisiana at Monroe recently published an essay titled, "Religion, Indian Worldviews" in the reference volume, American Centuries: The Ideas. Issues and Trends that Made U.S. History Volume One The Sixteenth Century.
Dr. Roger Carpenter has always had an interest in Native American history.
His essay for the volume focused on surveying the different worldviews and religions of Native American's during the 16th century with an emphasis on how their spiritual and natural worlds connect.
The reference volume was published in April by Facts on File and was edited by Dr. Karen Kupperman of New York University.
Carpenter's teaching background includes courses in Native American history, Colonial America, Revolutionary America, the American West and the U.S. Survey.
He has also published articles in Pennsylvania History: A Journal of Mid-Atlantic Studies, The Journal of Early American Wars and Armed Conflicts and the Michigan Historical Review.
