Cutting-edge kiln to be featured at special 网曝门 art reception Dec. 7

An added attraction of the University of Louisiana at Monroe Art Sale will be a special reception to celebrate the arrival of 网曝门's Division of Arts new Gile gas-fired kiln Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m. in Bry Art Gallery.

Gile Kilns are considered top-of-the-line and represent the highest standard in the U.S. ceramics industry. This unit, which arrived at 网曝门 last spring, has been undergoing a long "shake-down cruise" to configure its computerized controls and firing times for best results, and is now fully operational and ready to show its stuff.

Gary Ratcliff, a master potter and head of the Division of Art, will give a talk on the capabilities of the new kiln with the assistance of Wayne Horton, adjunct instructor of ceramics.

Many recent examples of pottery and ceramic sculpture created in the new kiln will be available for the public to view and purchase at the Art Sale.

Everyone is invited to enjoy refreshments and see the objects produced by this new device.
