ÍøÆØÃÅ biology students present research at fall symposium
University of Louisiana at Monroe biology graduate and undergraduate students presented their research at the Louisiana Association of Professional Biologists Fall Symposium, Aug. 19 -20, in Lafayette.
Graduate student Alex Fotis of Columbis, Ohio, earned first place recognition for his oral presentation titled "Living on the edge: Trees promoting optimal growing conditions for woody seedling."
Graduate student Lisa Brown of Tyler, Texas, earned a first-place award for her poster presentation titled "Helminth parasites of the Fowler's Toad, Anaxyrus fowleri, from northeastern Louisiana."
Jacob Hudson, a senior biology major from Deville, was a recipient of the LAPB Undergraduate Scholarship for the 2010-2011 year.
