Ace’s Amazing Race takes off again Aug. 30 - Sept.1
First Year Experience officials at the University of Louisiana at Monroe will host its third annual Ace's Amazing Race starting at 6 p.m. in the Grove on Monday, Aug. 30, through Wednesday, Sept. 1.
The three-day event is for all incoming freshmen and modeled after the CBS television show, “The Amazing Race.” Its purpose? Get incoming students excited about , familiarize them with certain campus locations, build a sense of community, and promote Warhawk pride.
Each year several colleges, departments and organizations donate money, and sponsors various giveaways including cups, T-shirts, key chains, pens, pencils, coupons, and food.
Athletics has also participated by helping create challenges for the students. also has support from local businesses that donate items as door prizes at the end of the race.
