Agribusiness chair presents at Louisiana Cattlemen’s Association convention

James Casey, Ph.D., was invited to present at the Louisiana Cattlemen's Association State Convention. Casey, agribusiness chair at ÍøÆØÃÅ, presented "Tax Implications of Liquidating Breeding Livestock from a Beef Cattle Business."

Casey has made the presentation in Ouachita Parish, Lincoln Parish, and Morehouse Parish. He will also present his work at Louisiana State University in April.

He works closely with the National FFA Farm Business Management Career Development Event Committee at the National FFA Convention and the Academic Quizbowl of the American Agricultural Economics Association. Casey grew up on a small cattle ranch in Central Texas and owns a ranch near College Station, Texas, according to his web site.

Casey earned a Ph.D. in agricultural economics at Texas A&M University.
