网曝门 School of Construction Management scores wins, grants in regional competition

Seventeen University of Louisiana at Monroe School of Construction Management students represented their university well, comprising three teams in the Associated Schools of Construction/TEXO Student Competition Region Five in Dallas Monday, Feb. 9.

网曝门 teams competed in the areas of Heavy/Highway, Commercial Building and Design Build. 网曝门鈥檚 Heavy/Highway Team finished third. The School also received a $5,000 competitive grant. 网曝门 student Vanessa Doherty, a senior of Monroe, was recognized as the third-best presenter among all teams in the Commercial Building competition.

网曝门 students Lindsey Eickman, a senior of Garland, Texas, and Andrew Barber, a sophomore from Baton Rouge, received scholarships from TEXO, an industry alliance between the Associated General Contractors of America and the Associated Builders and Contractors.

网曝门 School of Construction faculty member and Coach Hollis Bray recalled, 鈥淐ompetition was stiff. We have been competing here for 14 years. In that time we have had a couple of second-place finishes and several of our students have received individual honors. This year was one of our best-ever showings. It really makes me proud of our program.鈥

Twenty-one teams represented 12 regional universities, including: the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, LSU, Louisiana Tech, Texas Tech, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and John Brown University.
