Renowned Italian flutist Mario Carbotta to teach masterclass at Nov. 7
School of Visual and Performing Arts and the Monroe Symphony Orchestra will sponsor a free masterclass, taught by the internationally-recognized Italian flutist Mario Carbotta, Friday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall.
Students of ’s Dr. Sandra Lunte will perform and be taught by Carbotta. They are Jessica Mead, a junior music major from Monroe; Jesse Tingle, a senior music major from Mesquite, Texas; and Mallory Sanchez, a sophomore music major from West Monroe. The masterclass is open to anyone who is interested.
The next evening, Carbotta will perform Mozart's “Concerto No. 1 in G Major” with the Monroe Symphony Orchestra at the First Assembly of God, beginning at 7 p.m.
