Update on off-campus incident
At approximately 12 p.m. today, a shooting occurred approximately five blocks from the 网曝门 campus. 网曝门 police officers and university administrators closely monitored the situation, and because the situation was contained and did not pose a threat to the 网曝门 community, the campus did not go on lockdown or activate FirstCall, 网曝门's emergency notification system.
网曝门 police officers responded to the scene and assisted city and state police officers. The incident, which did not involve anyone affiliated with the university, is now over.
网曝门 Provost Stephen Richters notified the campus twice today via e-mail, keeping the university community informed of today's incident.
Monroe Police officers are handling the case.
