Pharmacy dean announces plans to step down

Dr. Lamar Pritchard, dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, has announced that he will step down from his position and leave the university on July 1, 2009.

In a statement addressed to his colleagues today, Pritchard wrote, "The time has come for me to begin to wrap up my very rewarding work here at 网曝门 and look for new challenges and opportunities ahead."

Dr. Pritchard became dean at 网曝门 in 2004. Since that time, significant progress has transpired at the College, noted Dr. James Cofer, 网曝门 President. Under Pritchard's leadership, the College has developed the new Pharm D professional curriculum, established a nationally-recognized Pharmacy Care Lab, partnered with the LSU Health Science Centers to provide clinical rotations for students, and achieved full accreditation through 2014.

"We appreciate Dean Pritchard's contributions to the College of Pharmacy, and all of us at 网曝门 wish him the very best. We are confident he will continue to succeed in his future endeavors" Cofer said.

A search committee for a new dean will be appointed and charged with conducting a national search.

"Our talented faculty and strong leadership team will ensure the continued success of our College of Pharmacy. We are well-positioned to attract another strong leader" Cofer said.
