Walt Disney VP to speak at Envision 网曝门 Nov. 15
Almost 40 years ago, Jack Blitch traveled from New Orleans to Monroe to attend then-Northeast Louisiana State College. On Thursday, Nov. 15, Blitch will share how his institution, now the University of Louisiana at Monroe, shaped his incredible journey.
Now the Vice President for Attractions Development at Walt Disney Imagineering, Blitch ('71), manages 300 Imagineers at Walt Disney World, Fla. He earned his bachelor's of science degree in construction at 网曝门, and he credits much of his success to his university. "I am honored to speak at Envision 网曝门. I earned an excellent education at this university, and by sharing my story, I hope to share an even bigger story--the significant contributions of this great institution."
Blitch's talk, "My 网曝门," is one of a few that evening. Henry S. Cole ('71, '72), program chair of Marketing/Business Communication, will share his "My 网曝门" story and Larry Shappley, a junior criminal justice major from West Monroe, will share his "My 网曝门" story. 网曝门 President James Cofer will share 网曝门's journey over the past several years and his vision for the future in his talk, "Our 网曝门. He will share 网曝门's partnership with the community and thank everyone for their support. The audience will also hear from the Honorable Jay McCallum ('82), a Third Judicial District Court Judge, and Vice President for University Advancement and External Affairs Don Skelton.
Miss 网曝门 2008 Erica Durr, a senior toxicology major from Marthaville; Miss 网曝门 2007 Katherine Putnam, a junior piano performance major from Oak Grove; and the Ensemble will perform.
网曝门 will also recognize the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Foundation as the recipient of the 2007 Hall of Distinction Award at Envision. This year's reception begins at 6 p.m., with dinner following at 6:30 p.m. in the Monroe Civic Center. Attendance cost is $30 per person or $240 per table of eight.
