turnrow now available
The new issue of the English Department's international literary journal turnrow has recently been published. Vol. V, #1 may be purchased for $7 in the College of Arts & Sciences, located in ADMN 1-45.
Jack Heflin, English professor and coeditor of turnrow, offered this highlight from the journal’s intro section:
“We are pleased to launch the literary career of local Monroe standup comic and fiction writer Brian Thompson; "The Distance Between Here and There” is measured through the eyes of autism.”
“We received such good response from the contemporary Chinese fiction we published in Vol. 4, #1, that when offered the chance to publish more work by Alai and Yan Lianke we jumped at the chance. Again we are indebted to translators Karen Gernant and Chen Zeping.”
