Jay Hicks, assistant professor and head of ’s radiologic technology department, will attend “RT in DC” in Washington D.C. March 18-21 as a representative of the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technology.

The American Society of Radiologic Technology is sponsoring this advocacy campaign to promote and support the Consistency, Accuracy, Responsibility, and Excellence in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Act of 2007 (H.R. 583) during the 110th Congressional session.

Hicks will be meeting with and educating many of the state representatives and senators about the bill, which is designed to establish educational and credentialing standards for personnel who plan and deliver radiation therapy treatments and for those who perform all types of medical imaging examinations.
