Students ready to enjoy Greek Week 2007
Greek Week begins Thursday, March 22 at 3 p.m. and ends Wednesday, March 28 at 5 p.m. Students are ready to enjoy a fun-filled week of various games and events.
Greek Week schedule of events are as follows:
Thursday, March 22 –
Torch Run - 3 p.m. - Each chapter will be assigned a location and must designate a chapter representative to carry the torch. The Torch Run will begin at Brown Auditorium and will end at the courtyard, outside the Student Union Building.
Kick Off Party – 9 p.m. – 12 a.m. – The Offices of Greek Life and Student Life and Leadership will host a party to kick off Greek Week festivities. Cocktail attire is required. The event will be held in the SUB Grand Ballroom and is for Greeks only.
Monday, March 26 –
Shine –At each event during the week, “NEW” socks and towels will be collected for the Salvation Army and Rays of Sonshine.
Meet the Greeks Sno-Cone Social – 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. - The Sno-Cone Social gives Greeks a chance to interact with each other as well as with other students on campus. This will also be a great recruitment opportunity for new members.
Tuesday, March 27 –
LifeShare Blood Drive – 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. – The LifeShare Blood donor bus will be parked in the Quad for all Greeks, students and faculty to donate and share the gift of life.
Lip Sync Contest – 11 a.m. – 1 a.m. – All potential “American Idols” are encouraged to enter the lip sync contest. No one has to be vocally talented, just ready to have fun. All routines must be viewed by Rachel Bolton for pre-performance approval.
Wednesday, March 28 –
Canoe Race – 9 – 11 a.m. – Two-person teams will paddle from shore to shore while circling trees. The first team to finish will be the winner.
Grubby Games – 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – These fun-filled games include: Balloon Fling, Jell-O Eating Contest, Tug of War, Bat Spin, Tub of Pudding, Fill the Bucket, Pie Eating Contest, and Ring Toss.
Greek Dare – 1 – 3 p.m. – The instructions for this game will be explained at the event.
Kick Ball with Big Brothers Big Sisters – 3 - 5 p.m. – Participants will meet at the Intramural Field, where they will put on running shoes and play a game of kickball with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
