ÍøÆØÃÅ professor one of 20 scholars selected to participate in program

Debbie Wisenor, interim department head and assistant professor of Clinical Laboratory Science, was one of only 20 scholars chosen to participate in the Teaching Scholars Summer Institute at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia, June 4 – June 8.

The program, sponsored by the West Virginia University Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, and Pharmacy, is an intense faculty development program designed to develop educational theories and technologies. The institute also promotes educational skills, critical thinking, and innovative approaches among faculty, Wisenor said.

"The program gave me the awesome opportunity to network with faculty scholars from different universities and healthcare disciplines. Special emphasis was placed on motivating faculty and students to become life-long learners by engaging in the learning process through concept mapping, problem-based learning, and case-based learning.â€
