ÍøÆØÃÅ SBDC small business workshops offered during fall semester

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Small Business Development Center will provide three Starting and Financing a Small Business workshops during the fall semester.

The first one is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 9 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the ÍøÆØÃÅ Administration Building, Room 2-108. The next is set for Saturday, Sept. 15 from 9 – 11 a.m. in the Administration Building, Room 2-105. The last will occur Thursday, Oct. 18 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Administration Building, Room 2-105. Each workshop has a $10 fee.

This two-hour workshop is recommended for individuals who are interested in determining the feasibility of their idea, are planning to start or have recently started a small business, want to expand their business, are interested in obtaining a small business loan, or want to learn more about planning and management. Topics of discussion include business feasibility, business planning, business description, marketing strategy development, financial planning, loan process/applications, and sources of funds for small business start-up and expansion.

This opportunity is part of the LSBDC’s continuing education program, as it provides quality, no-fee, confidential, one-on-one counseling services to potential and existing business owners; provides no-fee management and technical assistance services by appointment; conducts workshops and seminars to help small business people become better managers and to keep them informed about current events and changing trends in today’s business world; and maintains a resource library which includes statistical data, census figures, SBA publications, and a variety of other information.
