Warbonnets schedule youth dance clinic for Feb. 10

The ÍøÆØÃÅ Warbonnets will share some of their dance techniques with girls ranging from kindergarten to sixth-grade Saturday, Feb. 10, beginning at 8 a.m. in Brown Gym.

The participants will learn a dance routine and will perform in their ÍøÆØÃÅ attire during the women’s basketball game vs. North Texas held at noon. Each girl will receive a T-shirt, snack, lunch, and ticket to the game.

According to Jenifer Armstrong, assistant coordinator of ÍøÆØÃÅ spirit groups, “This not just a fundraiser, but an attempt to make the community more aware of what the Warbonnets do.â€

The ÍøÆØÃÅ Warbonnets perform during basketball games and do halftime routines with the band during football season. They also perform jazz, hip-hop and pom-pom routines at pep rallies and home basketball games.

They also annually compete at the Universal Dance Association College National Championship in Orlando, Fla. The Warbonnets make numerous appearances at campus and community events.

The workshop cost is $50 per person.
