CNT Student Affairs to host several events

ÍřĆŘĂĹ continues its proactive student approach with the Commuter and Non-Traditional Student Affairs Commuter Coffee Break Tuesday, Feb. 6 from 8 – 10 a.m. in the Student Union Building’s commuter student lounge.

An “Intro to Personal Computing for Non-Trads” will follow Thursday, Feb. 8 from 1 – 3 p.m. in the Airway Science Building, room 223. Computer training in memory keys, MS Word and Excel will be given. Limited seating is available. Please RSVP by noon on Feb. 7.

A CNT Brown Bag Lunch will occur Wednesday, Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the SUB’s commuter student lounge.

The Non-Traditional Student Organization focuses on issues facing non-traditional students on a daily basis, changes needed on campus to benefit the non-trads and on possible social events.

A non-traditional student is defined as having one or more of the following characteristics: age 25 years or older; married; has children who receive more than half of their support from the student; has legal dependents, other than child or spouse, that live with and receive more than half of their support from the student; or is a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces.

NTSO currently has 33 members and is accepting applications for the Spring 2007 semester. Membership is required to attend NTSO meetings. Annual membership dues of $10 are due upon joining.

Non-traditional students are automatically eligible to participate in the National Non-Trad Student Week and qualify for the Non-Trad Student of the Month Award, as well as participate in the Commuter and Non-Traditional Student Affairs events.
