ÍøÆØÃÅ Alumni Association organizing all-Louisiana vacation to Ireland
ÍøÆØÃÅ alumni and friends, along with alumni from McNeese State, UNO, Northwestern, and UL Lafayette, invite the public to accompany them on the Ennis Escapade, May 1-8, 2008.
The cost is approximately $1,295 per person, plus airfare and V.A.T., based on double occupancy.
Along with fellow Louisiana alumni travelers, visitors will explore the Emerald Isle with its lush green hills and incomparable cliffs, moors, and monuments. A world of balladeers, tall tales, hearty food, inviting pubs, phenomenal fishing and golf, traditional music and dance, and breathtaking scenery await the travelers.
On the agenda are some of Ireland's greatest natural and historic treasures, including the medieval heart of Ennis in County Clare, the wild grandeur of the Burren and the majestic sandstone Cliffs of Moher. Also on the itinerary is the rugged beauty of the Connemara with a cruise to Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands, and a visit to the formidable stone fortress, Dún Aengus.
Visitors will stroll through Bunratty Folk Park, an open-air museum that offers a glimpse into 19th-century Irish life. They will visit Bunratty Castle with its Great Hall and fine furnishings. At the end of a day's optional sightseeing, the travelers will return to the comfort and hospitality of the first-class Old Ground Hotel in Ennis.
