U.S. Air Force musicians to perform at ÍøÆØÃÅ Sept. 20

Gateway Brass, the brass ensemble of the U.S. Air Force Band of the West, will present a concert Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Biedenharn Recital Hall on the University of Louisiana at Monroe campus. The performance is free of charge and open to the public.

Gateway Brass is stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. They represent the U.S. Air Force by performing music for formal military ceremonies, educational clinics and community concerts. At every performance they offer the audience a wide range of musical styles spanning five centuries.

The ensemble is composed of two trumpets, French horn, trombone, tuba, and percussion instruments. The members hold degrees from universities across the nation and have vast experience performing with some of the finest ensembles and musicians in the world, displaying their musical talent at more than 100 concerts a year throughout the Southwest.

This group has been featured in performances at the New York Brass Conference and Boston University's Tanglewood Music Center.
