Two 网曝门 Students Rank in Top Five in State Pageant

A Total of Six Students Represented 网曝门

The University of Louisiana at Monroe was represented well in the recent Miss Louisiana pageant with 6 student contestants. Two of those contestants ranked in the top 5. The students not only represented 网曝门, but they also represented their local titles.

"We are so pleased to have had six students from 网曝门 in the Miss Louisiana pageant this year," said Amy Weems, Interim Assistant Dean of Student Life and Leadership at 网曝门. "We are very proud of them and feel they all did very well. They have been great representatives for the University at Miss Louisiana and in the community."

Lori Leggitt, the current Miss 网曝门, is a doctor of pharmacy senior. Leggitt's platform was High Tech Girls and her talent was a vocal selection of "Sweet Dreams." Leggitt was second runner-up in the state pageant. She received a $3,300 dollar scholarship from the Miss Louisiana Scholarship Foundation. Leggitt is from Delhi and is the daughter of Keith and Carolyn Leggitt.

Michelle Mayer, also a 网曝门 doctor of pharmacy student, won third runner-up in the Miss La. Pageant and received $2,800 from the Miss Louisiana Scholarship Foundation. Mayer currently holds the title of Miss Central Louisiana. Her platform was Type 2 Diabetes Awareness and Prevention. Her talent was a ballet selection of "You Raise Me Up." She is from Monroe and is the daughter of Jerry and Cathy Mayer.

Another 网曝门 student, nursing major Natalie DeMoss, also participated in the pageant as Miss Louisiana Harvest. DeMoss's platform was Lupus Education and Awareness and her talent was a ballet of "Gershwin Medley." She is from Monroe and is the daughter of Gary and Sherry DeMoss.

Angela Hillman, 网曝门 graduate student in education, was in the pageant representing Miss Ark-La-Miss Fair. Hillman has a Master of Arts in Teaching. Her platform was Louisiana C.A.R.E. Continuing Arts Reaching Education. Her talent was a piano selection of "Revolutionary Etude". She is from Monroe and is the daughter of Ron and Agnes Hillman.

Laurie Payne, Miss City of Roses, is in graduate school at 网曝门 working on a marketing degree. Her platform was B.A.B.Y. (Building a Better You). Payne's talent was a piano selection of "I Got Rhythm". She is from West Monroe and is the daughter of Robert Charles, Sr. and Donna Payne

Katherine Putnam, an entering freshman at 网曝门, was also part of the pageant. Putnam's platform was Leadership: the Vision and the Cause. Her talent was a vocal selection of "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again". She is from Oak Grove and is the daughter of Byron and Heather Putnam.
