TeachNortheast to Hold Information Session
The University of Louisiana at Monroe will hold an information session for TeachNortheast, its Alternative Certification Program, Tuesday, January 25 from 5-7:30 p.m. in Strauss Hall Room 148
TeachNortheast
is an innovative approach to improving student achievement in
northeast Louisiana by recruiting, selecting and training individuals
from well-rounded backgrounds who possess the relentless drive
to achieve results. Although northeast Louisiana school districts
are in great need of math, science, and special education teachers,
TeachNortheast is not looking for specific types of applicants.
The program also serves teachers who are currently employed by
a school district and interested in pursuing certification. ÍøÆØÃÅ's
TeachNortheast program challenges motivated individuals
from all backgrounds to make an investment in Louisiana's future
by becoming a teacher and raising student achievement. Through
TeachNortheast teacher's can teach in their own classroom
while earning their teaching certification. Applicants
must have a college degree and a 2.5 undergraduate GPA to apply.
ÍøÆØÃÅ will offer training and support and tuition assistance is
available for select candidates teaching in high need districts
and high need fields.
