Berry Named Dean for the College of Business Administration at 网曝门

Dr. Ron Berry has been named Dean for the College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Berry's appointment was the result of a national search conducted by a committee comprised of faculty, students, and regional business leaders. He has served as Interim Dean for the College since August, 2004.

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Stephen Richters said Berry was the best choice. "Dr. Berry is highly respected both in the College of Business Administration and in the wider university community," said Richters. "He has proven himself to be an effective teacher, a productive scholar, and a skillful administrator. Dr. Berry's superior leadership and management skills will be of tremendous benefit to the college."

Berry received his doctorate in Management Information Systems from Mississippi State University and joined the 网曝门 faculty in 1995. He was named Head of the Department of Computer Information Systems in 2000, and served in that capacity until 2004 when he was named Interim Dean of the College of Business Administration. He was recognized by the 网曝门 Alumni Association as the Outstanding Professor in the College of Business in 2002 and as the Beta Gamma Sigma Outstanding Professor in Business in 2004.

"It is truly an honor to be selected as the Dean of the College of Business Administration," Berry said. "I have thoroughly enjoyed working closely with faculty, students, the business community and the University administration during the past seven months as Interim Dean. I am excited about the opportunity to continue our efforts to move the College forward."

Dr. Berry holds the Entergy Endowed Professor of Computer Information Systems, has published over 40 refereed articles, and has served as the founding editor of the Journal of Internet Commerce. He has successfully attracted over $750,000 in grant funds, which were used to enhance the technological infrastructure of the college, provide professional development opportunities for its faculty, and conduct research.

Berry's appointment is pending approval from the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.
