Broadway Actress to Appear at ÍøÆØÃÅ

Candy Buckley, currently appearing in Arthur Miller's After The Fall on Broadway, will appear in the TheatreWorksÍøÆØÃÅ production of The Good Person of Setzuan. She will create the dual roles of Shen Te (the "good person") and her male alter ego Shui Ta. The play, by Epic theatre master Bertolt Brecht, features an adaptation by Pulitzer and Tony-winning playwright Tony Kushner and a new score by L. Keith White, Director of the School of Visual and Performing Arts.

Ms. Buckley is a veteran of numerous Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theatre productions. She appeared in Broadway's Cabaret (Fraulein Kost), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Mrs. Meers), and Ring Around The Moon (Lady India). Off-Broadway audiences have seen her in such works as The Petrified Prince (for which she was nominated for a Drama Desk Award as Best Actress in a Musical) and Communicating Doors. Recently, her work on All The King's Men was rewarded with a Helen Hayes Award nomination. She spent 4 years with the American Repertory Company and 10 seasons with the Dallas Theatre Center.

While in Monroe, Ms. Buckley will be presenting workshops, visiting classes, and presenting an "Inside the Actor's Studio" session open to the general public, while preparing Good Person for performance.
