BPS Professor Makes Presentations World Wide
Dr. Paul Sylvester, professor in the Basic Pharmaceutical
Science Department at ÍøÆØÃÅ, has several areas of research interests,
one of which is in the area of breast cancer. Sylvester will
speak on "Potential Health Benefits of Palm Tocotrienol
in the Prevention and Treatment of Breast Cancer" at the
XIV International Palm Oil Conference, Cartagena, Columbia, South
America, on September 23-26. Also on October 26-30, Dr. Sylvester's
graduate student, Sumit Shah, will present a research paper on
the mechanism by which vitamin E kills breast cancer cells at
the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientist (AACP) Annual
Meeting, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Throughout the summer Sylvester has spoken at many events around
the world. He presented research on the "Role Tocotrienols
in the prevention and treatment of breast cancer" in Tokyo,
Japan. He also spoke in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at the Palm Oil
Research Institute of Malaysia International Palm Oil Congress
(PIPOC). And, the BPS laboratory presented a research paper at
the 94th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Cancer
Research (AACR), in Washington, D.C.
