Internationally Distinguished Violinist to Perform at 网曝门 as Part of the President's Speaker Series

Professor Charles Castleman will hold a Violin Masterclass at the University of Louisiana at Monroe in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall from 10:30 a.m. until noon tomorrow. The class will also feature performances by three 网曝门 students. Professor Charles Castleman is an internationally distinguished violinist and pedagogue on the faculty of the Eastman School of Music. During the class, Castleman will perform on the Stradivarius violin known as "Marquis de Champeaux", dated 1707. Castleman's biography appears in the International Who's Who in Music, published in Cambridge, England.

Dr. Chris Thompson of 网曝门's School of Visual and Performing Arts said, "At the Castleman Violin Masterclass, the audience will have the rare opportunity to observe the teaching and performance of one of the greatest violinists and pedagogues of our time."

Castleman's appearance is part of The President's Speaker Series. The 网曝门 President's Speaker Series, which began this spring, is sponsored by Citgo. 网曝门 President James Cofer created this outlet to bring distinguished speakers, lecturers, artists, and other talented people to 网曝门. A University is the perfect setting for accomplished professionals to share stories about their success and their vast knowledge of a particular subject matter. 网曝门 and surrounding communities can look forward to expanded educational opportunities through these free, public talks and performances.

Castleman's appearance is also being made possible through a generous gift from the Office of the President and the Office of the Provost at 网曝门 and from the Louisiana String Teachers Association.
