ÍøÆØÃÅ is the only University to receive 100% scores in all scores in all categories from Louisiana Board of Regents

In a report card issued recently by the Louisiana Board of Regents, the University of Louisiana at Monroe is the only University to receive 100% scores in all categories assessed.

Dr. Dale Johnson, Dean of the College of Education and Human Development, said, "I am gratified to see that ÍøÆØÃÅ continues to rank at the very top of the state of Louisiana in teacher education, and I am very proud of the students and faculty in the college and in the other colleges from whom our students take courses in helping us achieve this recognition with a grade of A+. We will continue to work hard to prepare the best teachers in the state in the tradition of the University of Louisiana at Monroe."

Louisiana has created a teacher preparation Accountability System that is assessing the performance of teacher preparation programs within the state. During the first phase of the accountability system, the performance of regular and alternate certification students on the state teachers' examination (PRAXIS) is being assessed. The purpose of this accountability system is to demonstrate to the public that all universities and colleges in the state are diligently working to address the need to produce quality teachers who are effective when working with PK-12 students.

The University of Louisiana at Monroe has been assigned a grade of A+ (Exemplary) for the performance of regular and alternate certification program completers on the state teachers' examination (PRAXIS). The following scale was used to determine performance grades: A+ (Exemplary) = 98-100% Passage rate, A =92-97% Passage rate, B =86-91% passage Rate, C (At-risk) = 80-85% Passage Rate, Below C (Low Performing) = Below 80% Passage Rate.
